Livni's trip comes six days after an Egyptian-brokered truce deal between the Israeli regime and Gaza fighters ended.
Palestinian factions in the Gaza strip observed a one-day ceasefire on Monday saying that the truce could be extended if positive developments were made.
However, Israeli forces killed three Palestinian fighters after the day-long truce and Gaza fighters resumed the firing of home made rockets into Israel.
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak took a step further on Wednesday, ordering the army to prepare for a series of military operations including major airstrikes against the Gaza strip.
This is while the regime has already sealed off all border crossings with the coastal Strip and has imposed a tight economic blockade against the 1.5 million population of Gaza.
